The Millau Viaduct is an amazing thing. There's something magnetic about it. Whenever I see a photograph, I can't seem to look away. I don't know if it's the symmetry or the contemporary design, or the breathtaking height of the road surface - the road is as much as 270 m (885 ft) above the ground. It's located in southern France and Google Maps currently shows the bridge under construction (so that set of imagery is old). Business Week says it's the tallest and longest multi-span cable-stayed bridge in the world. I think it's beautiful. Here's a link to a French website about le Viaduc de Millau. Looking beyond the pop-over ad, the site has some neat photos in the gallery and a lot of info about its construction.
